Fall in KCountry – An Outfitters Update

Other posts by

Now that the summer holidays are officially over and the kids are back in school, a couple things are changing here at Kananaskis Outfitters. Our fall shop hours will be from 10 am until 6 pm every day and we will have staffed (hourly) boat rentals available on Saturday and Sunday directly at Barrier Lake Day Use Area.

During the week, all of our boats at Barrier Lake will be available on a key system and daily rates from our rental shop in the Kananaskis Village. The boats will be available on a first come, first served basis, so no reservations.

Our bike rentals will continue to be available through September from our shop. We will be selling off the fleet of bicycles at some point in October. An email will go out to everyone on our email list as soon as prices are calculated. If you are interested in buying one of our bikes or an inflatable SUP, then make sure you are on our email list! You can join the list here.

New and exciting this Fall!

Throughout September, we will be offering a hike every Saturday up Ptarmigan Cirque to see the Larches change color.

Join one of our certified guides and depart from Canada’s highest paved road into an incredible alpine environment!

Your hike will begin at 7250 feet above sea level, leaving from the highest paved road in Canada! Take in the breathtaking scenery, following waterfalls and a stream to 8000 feet above sea level, the perfect habitat for big horn sheep, pika’s and an incredible array of alpine plants. In the fall, Ptarmigan Cirque is the perfect trail to view the larches are they change color. These trees paint the mountain sides gold for just a few weeks every year.

Make sure to check trail reports before coming out to Kananaskis to make sure your intended hike is open. You can check the trail reports here.

We are very much looking forward to fall in KCountry and look forward to enjoying it with you guys!
