Kananaskis Conservation Pass

Kananaskis Conservation Pass: Prices, Parking, and Planning Tips

Every great adventure begins with a small step.

Yours starts with a pass.

Here’s what you need to know about the Kananaskis Conservation Pass.

Do you still need a Kananaskis Conservation pass in 2025-2026?

Yes, you still need it.

Think of the Kananaskis Conservation Pass as your key, not just to parking, but to a day of hikes, lakes, and adventures. This pass helps support trail maintenance, facilities, and conservation efforts so future adventurers can enjoy the same mountain magic you do today.

You don’t need a pass if you’re just traveling through. However, if you are stopping in the park, you will need a pass.

How much does the pass cost?

  • Personal vehicles: Day pass – $15 (one vehicle); Yearly pass – $90 (up to three vehicles)
  • Commercial (>15 people): Day pass – $22.50; Yearly pass – $135
  • Commercial (<15 people): Day pass – $30; Yearly pass – $180

Buy your pass online through Alberta Parks.

Or, buy your pass in-person at a Visitor Information Centre:

    • Use visitor centres to find lesser-known routes with available parking
