Sunrise Wake Up Hike

This tour departs early... Really early. But it is totally worth it! Sunrise hikes are a long-standing tradition for locals of the Rocky Mountains. There is just something so magical and surreal about having the mountains to yourself for a few moments. If you are looking for a hike to help you connect with nature, feel a little more grounded in your life and blow up your Instagram feed, then this is the hike for you.

Join your guide at the trail head while it is still dark, and then hike with headlamps to the perfect vantage point to watch the sunrise over the Kananaskis Valley. Once we have reached our viewpoint, guests and the guide will take part in our Mountain Morning Coffee Ceremony, where we will brew up some fresh coffee for everyone to enjoy.

We are beyond excited to be partnering with Calgary Heritage Roasting Company for this project. Here is a little bit of information about CHRC:
Calgary Heritage Roasting Company is built by the wilderness that drives it. We meticulously marry fresh and fragrant coffee with the urge to explore. The company found its inspiration over a percolated cup of coffee on a backpacking trip one morning in the rolling hills of Alberta, Canada. Our methods and mentality were forged from our experiences as wildland firefighters. Since then, the company's foundation continues to grow and evolve during backyard BBQs, weekend mountain adventures, and late nights under star-filled skies and scotch-filled glasses.

We are excited to be launching this tour for Summer and Fall of 2017!

  • Tour will depart approximately one hour before sunrise, so it will change a little bit from week to week.
  • This hike will be moderately strenuous, since we want to gain some elevation for the best view.
  • Please bring a small day pack, as each hiker will receive a gift that they will need to carry with them.
